St. Louis Martin - Creme Earl Grey

Alongside St. Zélie Martin, we are also welcoming St. Louis Martin to our shop! We are so excited to share this Creme Earl Grey tea with you all. In this tea there is Black Tea, Orange, Blue Cornflowers, Natural Vanilla Flavor, Natural Bergamot Flavor & Natural Creme Flavor.

But why this tea?

St. Louis was born in France to a military family. Instead of following in those footsteps, he trained to be a watchmaker which he would continue to be till he met his wife, Zélie. St. Zélie was a lace maker, and when her business took off and she became a mother, St. Louis took over for her so she could raise their beloved daughters.  Louis and Zélie had nine beautiful children, four of which went to heaven. in 1877, Zélie died from breast cancer. After this, Louis moved to Lisieux to be close to his brother and sister-in-law, who helped him school and raise his five girls. One by one each of his daughters joined the Carmelite Convent, and after his fifteen-year-old daughter Therese joined, his health began to decline. He was eventually placed in a sanitarium, and he died shortly after in 1894. However, his legacy lived on in his children who spent their lives married to Christ. 

We chose this tea for St. Louis because of his strength. He had strength in raising his daughters, after losing his wife, and even after losing his babies. This Earl Grey has a strong flavor as it's filled with delicious ingredients. Due to it's compatibility with St. Zelie's tea and seeing the strength in flavor, we felt it appropriate for St. Louis.
